It is not only a powerful tool for calculation but also a symbol of the wisdom of the Chinese nation, carrying thousands of years of history and culture.

The origin of the abacus can be traced back to a long time ago. There are various opinions about its origin, but it is generally believed that it gradually evolved in the long – term practice of life. As early as the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, counting rods were the main computing tools. However, using counting rods was rather cumbersome. With the development of social economy, the demand for a more convenient computing tool grew increasingly. Thus, the abacus came into being. By the Han Dynasty, the embryonic form of the abacus had emerged. After continuous improvement during the Tang and Song Dynasties, by the Ming Dynasty, the basic structure of the abacus had been fixed. It became an important daily computing tool, widely used in many fields such as business, finance and taxation, and astronomical calendars, witnessing the development of the economic and cultural aspects of ancient Chinese society.
