Location&Weather

- Art of Chinese Seal Engraving — Seal engraving is a cornerstone of Chinese fine arts. Design is sketched on paper and then engraved on stone with a knife, requiring mastery of traditional calligraphy and high virtuosity
- Sericulture and Silk Craftsmanship of China — Includes Yuhang Qingshui Silk Floss Production Techniques and Hangzhou Luo Silk Making Techniques. Yuhang Qingshui Silk Floss is white and soft, with a long history. Hangzhou Luo silk has a complicated making process.
Guqin and Its Music — The guqin has existed for over 3,000 years. Zhejiang has formed a unique guqin art style due to its geographical environment, climate, language and customs.
Cuisine
- Dongpo Pork — A classic Hangzhou dish, named after the poet – scholar Su Dongpo. The pork is slow – cooked until it is tender and juicy, with a reddish – brown color, and tastes sweet and savory
- West Lake Vinegar Fish — Usually made with grass carp, the fish is cooked and then dressed with a special sauce made from vinegar, sugar and other seasonings, giving it a unique sweet and sour flavor
- Longjing Shrimp — This dish combines the fresh – water shrimp with the famous Longjing tea. The shrimp is tender and the tea imparts a delicate, fragrant taste
- Steamed Beggar’s Chicken — The chicken is wrapped in lotus leaves and covered with clay, then baked in the oven. The result is a chicken that is tender and juicy, with a rich, fragrant flavor.
